Dang.

Well, thank you anyway. I will put it in plant hospice and try to enjoy its last days anyways.

Psychopsis krameriana is one of the most finicky plants that I've encountered. They seem to just die for no reason at all. Talking to a lady who has better success with them than I do, it seems they are super sensitive to being moved. Once they put down new roots they are pretty tough, but till then they need to be handled with extreme care.
I've bought 3 plants over the last couple years as it's one of my favorite orchids. But of those 3 only one has survived. Luckily that one is thriving, blooming on 2 spikes through most of the year and it's now grown a new bulb/leaf that has matured nicely. Sadly something chewed off the tip of the new spike that was growing from it. Hopefully either that spike get's a side shoot or the bulb can send up another.

Fingers crossed that by some miracle yours makes it.

How long ago did you receive it? Did you attempt to communicate with the vendor about its poor condition when received?

Thank you for this information and sharing your experience. I certainly have been very surprised at how quickly this plant seems to be going downhill. Very bummed. I am not sure if it came bad or if the trauma of shipping and being repotted as what did it. I am guessing all of these things. From the look of the plant I think it was a division taken off of a bigger plant when it was sent to me so . I have killed plants in my time but nothing has gone downhill this fast. It’s not totally dead yet so I still am keeping my fingers crossed. If and when I need to try a new one I will try to buy it in person if possible to save some heartache.

I only received it a week ago. I probably was taking a gamble buying it from the place I did based on their reviews. I guess I was just hoping for the best. It wasn’t too expensive, so I think I am just going to chalk this up to a learning experience.

I can certainly understand taking a gamble on a cheap plant from a place with less than stellar reviews. I also would still at least let the vendor know it was pretty much DOA, or if paying with a credit card void the sale. Not squawking about a crappy transaction is what vendors with mixed reviews count on. Just sayin'...
