Thank you all for your replies!
I was away for a while because of work and such.
By the way, I made an experiment by playing one of my Vandas in very lose medium (coarse bark, pumice and seramis) and after a few weeks, I did see an increase on the growth of aerial roots. I checked the roots and there was indeed rotting.
