Ant Killer? Male

For the greenhouse, I used to make my own waterproof ant baits by melting 8 ounces of boric acid (from the drug store), a cup of sugar, and a quarter pound of candle wax together. Pour it on foil in a baking tray, let it harden, and cut- or break it up into pieces to scatter around.

I haven't had an issue in years, but I might have to try substituting ther aspartame, if the need arises.

I personally hate ants alot, but I must say they are very benificial to my orchids and other plants... I have seen little red ants attack aphids, mealy bugs, and even long slugs... but if you want to get rid of ants, you can use many methods of killing them...

The first method is the shoe. You take a shoe, and you start going wild on them...

Or you can try a small squirt or two in a gallon of water, and water the orchids with it. I use this in order to get rid or some fungus or other little pests on the plants. It is safe and works pretty good on little ants.

The artificial sweetner may in fact work to kill the ants too...

To add to the artificial sweeteners (Aspartame and Sucralose), they are VERY dangerous products...

Aspartame was not originally developed to be an artificial sweetener. Instead, it was a stupid, accidental discovery from a gastric ulcer treatment study...

Aspartame and Sucralose have also been seen to cause cancer, seizures, tremors, memory loss, slur in speech, asthma, numbness, hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, diabetes, and so many other horrible things that it isn't worth me listing... oh, not to mention death.

These artificial sweeteners are very dangerous, and it should be made an effort to stay away from these sweeteners. The time of these sweeteners to affect someone can be instantly to who-knows-how-many years...

There was also another sweetener in the late 1980's that was named Acesulfame K. This was approved by the FDA as a safe sweetener in 1988. This sweetener causes many severe problems, such as lung and breast tumors, rare types of tumors on other organs, leukemia, and respiratory diseases...

The FDA has approved all these sweeteners as safe, even when proven they are dangerous and a hazard on anyone's health.

The "dietary supplement" Stevia is being used all around the world. It has never been seen to cause any health related problems like diseases, cancers, etc... The FDA declared Stevia as an unsafe food additive, though they declare the proven disease-causing Aspartame as safe... Stevia is basically a few hundred times sweeter then sugar, and has no caloric value... it is a safe alternative to sweeteners and sugar.
