Potting vanda (ik ik I have asked this 7394939 times already but pls help)

Hello!
I recently tried to pot up my vanda, but it had stem rot so it died😐
SO, naturally I got a new one. Last time, when I got the old Vanda it dropped all roots it came with and grew new ones. So, if I want to pot it up, do I wait the old roots to die off, or directly go about it?
Also, do I need to wait till the new orchid is acclimated to my place?
Also, I used Leica and coarse bark last time as a medium, is that okay??????

Vandas don't require bark or any medium. Most are grown bare root from a hanging basket(slotted)and roots easily grow down from there. Some folks do vase growing also with success. I only have 7 but are in the baskets and need to be watered each day along with weekly fertilizer. Now they're outside and get morning sun and dappled shade. Sure you'll hear from more experienced growers tho.

Thanks for the reply!
I also grew my Vanda bare rooted and it did fantastically in the monsoon and winter. However, my weather is too dry and hot in the summer, and it started to struggle. Hence I wanted to pot it up.

For me, the formula has been little or no medium, and daily watering. Occasionally I'll start one out in a pot with coarse bark, eventually the part in the pot dies but by that time there are air roots that have grown, and take over. So even those with medium end up with no medium, and the need for daily watering.

If you're going to repot it do it right away, before the roots die. LECA and/or bark should work.
