Hey Everyone,
Can someone please define, “Stock Division?”. Are these just old pseudo bulbs or something different. Do they necessarily contain new growth? I’m very confused. TIA.

Why not ask the vendor exactly what it is that they are offering? I would suspect, as you summize, that these would be back growth divisions. Nothing wrong with that as long as the price is right, just don't expect immediate bloom.

Yes, definitely ask.

I am not familiar with the term “stock plant”, but I guess it’s a variant of “breeding stock”, a more common term, and they are kept because they have particular, favorable traits.

In general horticultural production, stock plants are the mother plants the growers maintain long term in the greenhouse, usually to produce cuttings. But that's usually not applicable to orchids.

I'm going to guess that stock divisions are coming from plants that are either used for breeding purposes or original awarded plants.
