If voting made a difference it would be illegal.

I've heard that old wives tale many times before. If it were true, then it would be an even worse idea to sleep with pets (or spouse!) in the same room as they use far more oxygen than a plant does. And you don't hear of people droppping dead when walking into a greenhouse at night.

I have a fairly huge pothos in my bedroom, which crisscrosses the headboard multiple times and has now wandered along the walls to the other side of the room. And I'm not dead yet! I'm probably more at risk of tripping over the plant and breaking bones in the middle of the night than dying of suffocation.

Shades of Feed me Seymour!!

Speaking of... have you seen those tiny clips you can stick on wall, etc, to run pothos and similar around on a wall? I just saw them recently, and really kind of want to try it.

Just drill big hooks into the wall studs and you can hang dozens of heavy plants on every wall in your house. Of course, you'll need to balance the load by having plants on both sides of the wall.

This idea was based on an incident that took place in Olichy, Mississippi in 1952. A man was in traction after a freak bus accident and his family brought his favorite spider plant to the hospital and hung it from the traction frame. One night a nurse bumped the plant in such a way that the base of a keiki became seated in the man's ear. The combination of the humid dark conditions, the medication the man was on and the chemicals the cleaning staff used in the room caused rapid root growth into the man's ear that killed him before morning. One newspaper article claimed that a curse put on the man by his mother-in-law caused the bus accident.

That isn't even slightly possible. Sounds like the stories kids tell when they go snipe hunting.
