For saving sick plants, I like to pot in sphagnum moss.Dont overpot, just big enough for the plant.Add polystrene, or similar to the pot, at least half fill,then wet some moss, squeeze out excess water, you just want it nicely moist, then subject to what root system you have left, if any repot. It may require either tying to a stake, or wiring through the pot to keep it firm. Orchids root best if they dont wobble about. Its a simple thing to keep the moss just moist, either with a sprayer or small watering can.
