Hi all!

I am curious how to make multi-floral Paphs (rothschildianum, philippinense) bloom. Is there a trick that would make them grow flower spikes?

Thanks!

Time. They may not reach blooming size for 10-15 years from flask or even more. So if you acquire a young plant (one that hasn't already bloomed), it's important that YOU be young enough to wait it out.

I was going to say something similar. A "seedling" roth is like HUGE! It's the size of full grown orchids. So I think the first thing you should do if you can is to contact the seller to ask if he/she knows how old it is.

Thanks for the replies.

When I bought it from an orchid dealer in Germany, they listed it as an orchid that has reached maturity. I paid 100 euros for it. 😖

Patience still needed. It may have already done most of its maturing, but what's another year or two out of 15 or 20?

There is a reason that it is so expensive... the grower has had to nurture that plant for a lot of years to get it that big.

You have a new growth starting so I think you're close. Should be this year or next.
