Salt or Fungus?! Male
Default Salt or Fungus?!

Hey everyone!

Just repotted my Amazing Thailand Rainbow, I've been fertilizing regularly and watering regularly as it dries out.

I made the mistake of using my 20 20 20 at too high of a concentration, just wanted to see if yall think this is fertilizer salt build up or some fungus?

Going to try and rinse it out and go lighter on the fertilizer

I can't see well enough because it's so small. That might be mealy bugs. Look closely with a magnifying glass.

What genus of orchid is it?

Repotted this a month ago so the bark is pretty fresh, definitely not bugs. I think it is salt build up from the fertilizer the more I look at it.

It's a cattleya ! RLC Amazing Thailand

I suspect it’s a mold growing on decomposing bark, and nothing to worry about until the decomposition progresses further.

Mold often invades newly repotted plants that is easily seen but then fades away to where we don't notice it anymore. Mold isn't typically harmful.
