Here is some further good reading for you.

An Aos article mentioning something other than 20-20-20 although 20-20-20 is a very good formula that has worked for centuries for many growers giving very good results. I would argue better results than experiemnting with what I call ultra-grow feeds, (you either have grow, bloom, ultra bloom or ultra grow feeds) I refer to these ultra formulas as any formula containing more than 3 times of a macronutrient compared to another. (eg 3-12-15 would be an ultra-bloom feed)

Going that extreme is dangerous. Sticking to 20-20-20 is not dangerous. I think many new growers just do not understand this properly - me included.

Fertilizer is the least important factor in growing orchids. Proper temperatures, humidity and light are far more important. Don't get bogged down in details. Use a fertilizer with micronutrients in small amounts, and use a calcium/magnesium supplement if your tap water doesn't have these minerals. If you're in NYC your water doesn't have much calcium so you will need one of these.

House plants are typically grown in bagged potting soil, which has no nutrients at all. Without constant fertilization they stop growing and eventually die.

We can help you with the succulents, too. The commonest problem is not enough light.

I actually killed my succulents with too much love aka overwatering. I've figured out better set up since then, so they are doing okay now! (Knock on wood)
