Default Dendrobium speciosum acclimating to Northern Hemisphere

I've had this plant since early 2016, when it was imported from Australia as a very small seedling. It grows like a weed; however, the new growths are consistently initiated in the middle of winter, and then the plant rests from the spring through the fall months--when all of the other speciosums are actively growing.

Is it possible for this one to still "think" that it's in the Southern Hemisphere? If so, then I'll probably never get it to bloom, as our summers are hot, humid and wet and don't at all mimic what Den speciosum is accustomed to in its native environment.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with an imported plant from the Southern Hemisphere?

Thank you.

Steve

I've never imported this one. Other orchids I've imported from northern South America are still confused after 2-3 years.

Because Den. speciosum has a very wide natural range north to south, I could envision some kinds naturally growing earlier than others. Perhaps write the Rock Lily Man?

I was thinking the same, actually. That plant should be fully acclimated at this point. I'm curious to see what others think.
