Phal spike (cut) in moss--growing a new spike!
Newbie here. I've been watching YouTube videos and seeing others who cut a length of Phalaenopsis spike (already flowered), pack the base of the spike in damp sphagnum moss, seal in a jar, and grow a keiki from the node.
Well, 3 months ago I tried this with 6 spikes that I cut and I was ready to throw away. All but one yellowed and died.
However, I have ONE spike that is not only still alive, but has grown a small leaf from the node AND a new spike is emerging from that same node!
Has anyone seen this happen before?
