Like keith said the roots don't need to be buried.

What they would prefer - if you like to fuss- is to have them sitting on the media and then every day with a spray bottle you give them a little spray.

Let them dry out of bit, have one or two roots buried in the media but those bulbs should be exposed more.

Imagine each bulb is a babies head. Would you bury them in the ground?

The roots will grow into the pot.

But the plant needs to be hydrated quite a bit.

So daily spraying (and letting the roots dry) is the best way to provide moisture. Get the roots nice and wet and let them dry between.

Shade, I don't know if the imagery for this is jarring or just plane funny, but your point is accurate.

Both moved to SH when I received them. One maybe six or seven years ago, the other maybe three or so?

Yes, LaCucaracha, I see the pbulbs now. Are you familiar with growing anything similar to psychopsis, or is this a new adventure for you?

This is my first psychopsis as you can see. But I'm already growing one Oncidium that has grown phenomenally.
The psychopsis is a new adventure that I really wanted to have for so long.
Hopefully that with the help here I will be able to grow it and see its beautiful flower.

Here's wishing that spike to get going on a new bloom soon! I have three, one of which has two spikes, one a spike that branches into three, and one that's younger and has one spike. I keep them all in the same area, and there's always at least one, sometimes several, in bloom. What's not to love about them?

I've been looking for a peloric and an alba for quite some time to add to the group. Such a rewarding orchid that's always in bloom.
