Erwinia is a disease of plants kept too hot and moist, with poor air circulation. It doesn't sound like you've done that. There is usually a bad smell.

I am very new to growing orchids, so every problem is a learning experience! I can generally spot a pest problem and I can use test strips for CMmv & ORSV, but other viruses AND diseases are a serious challenge.

The Orchid Board has helped me so much in the past and I appreciate everyone's advice.

Only time will tell if this one will make it. Air movement shouldn't be the problem, but overwatering could be. I have a problem with that!

Consider a plant probiotic, as well.

Even though it isn’t marketed as such, I’d recommend Inocucor Garden Solution as a curative measure. Certainly not as strong as a targeted bactericide or fungicide, but effective nonetheless. Regular application of almost any probiotic product can help prevent such infections in the first place.
