Leaves bumps
Question Leaves bumps

Hi. I got these bumps on my orchid leaves before, mostly on cattleya but not this much of them on the same leaf. I noticed these bumps won’t harm my orchid, just looks ugly, or the damage is too little too see. But this time the one lead has too much bumps it makes me wonder what they really are or what causes these in the first place. Any suggestions please let me know. Thank you.
By the way, it’s not scale. I had scale on my orchid before, such a pain in the ***.

could be edema,
I make sure to try to rub it off first but if it's part of the leaf then most likely that.

you can read about it here: Orchid Environmental Damage

What are your temperatures day/night? Humidity? What light is it getting? What is the potting medium? How are you watering it?

Thank you, i’ll read that. I thought about Edema since i can’t rub them off. Then my friend told me it’s the damage caused by insects like the one on his tomato plant....

Temperture was 50-80F day/night on average, this week it’s getting colder. Those orchids with bumps on leaves are hanged outdoor, under 70-80% shade. Humidity is 40-70%. For potting I use mostly medium size bark mix with a little lump charcoal and perlite, then use small size bark to top it off. I water them every 6-10 days depend on how low the temperture is at night. I hold watering if it gets rain in the week.

Edema in Catts generally happens when they get far too much water. Maybe that happened a while ago, and the damage has scarred. It also could be insect damage.

If the spots don't spread I wouldn't worry about them.

Got it, thank you. I saw some leaf footed bugs around my backyard, so that’s a possibility. The weather lowed down around 40-42f at night this week, i adjusted watering every 10 days. And no, the bumps stop sometime ago so this was just for me learning from The Experts.
