To give credit... the notes on rehydrating desiccated plants came from Mary Gerritsen. (She sent them as a document when forwarding some plants from China, took me a bit of time to find the email) Definitely an authoritative source.

Sade, it's probably only 6 days left which is far too little time so buy them a spray bottle. Tell them to give it one squirt a day or 7 squirts once a week.
Probably the best thing you can do for these phals.

I can understand why caring for just one is hard. The only reason I give mine so much attention is because I have lots. With just one orchid it's easiest to just stick it under the tap once a week but then its easily forgotten about too. I find having a spray bottle handy encourages me to keep up watering so might help them too.

If the plants can be kept in a very high-humidity environment, the same thing can be accomplished. This might be useful if that's not possible.

The challenge is to hydrate the leaves and get at least 1 new root in 1 week or at most in 10 days, using a different technique for each one and see what has worked better.

If my parents had been that demanding I doubt I would have cooperated. Particularly if they tried stuffing me with weird drugs.

Come on ES, these are plants; nature and N:1 test for learning... I am sure they are going to do well anyway, sooner or later and not be traumatized
