Do these look like Bellina Seedlings? Female
Unhappy Do these look like Bellina Seedlings?

Hi Guys, so I bought 2 mounted Bellinas, age was not in description. I received them last night and they are TINY mounted plants (stupid me for not asking before buying on ETSY) , they are seedlings. I went ahead and unmounted it and put in little pots anyway last night, figured i dont mind. Today Im getting ready to submit feedback and as im uploading the correct pic and matching it with the pic on site i realize they dont even look like the pic on the site either!!! I am awaiting from seller but in meantime, as I get madder and madder lol Im starting to even doubt if there are even bellina seedlings at all (leaves are narrow and long and kinda thin and flexible) See images of site pic vs. received.

What do you guys think?

Those are just out of flask seedlings, they don't have their adult characteristics yet. They can very well be bellina, no issue here.

How much did you pay for them?

Your seedlings look just like my seedlings and none of them are the same type. Doubt you'll be able to tell them apart until they are bigger.

Not sure if you guys like to call your violacea's Bellina's.

It seems to get mixed around a lot in the US. Here there is a distinct distinction.

Either a Bellina, or a Violacea.

You can get Bellina coerulea or blue

then you can get Violagea indigo

There is no Bellina Indigo.

So what you were sold could be a Bellina, it could be a violacea indigo or it could be something completely different.

You will know in about 3 years time in which time that etsy seller will have made his money and moved on.

I'd like to think he should have sold you the right plants but what are the right plants cause with a Bellina Indigo, it really is hard to tell what the seller really had.

It is very difficult to tell just from the leaves at this stage. Phals grow quite quickly in the right conditions so they could be blooming size in a year.

Great so who knows... Here is the pic of both of them from the Etsy site. What do you think?

Okay, so the second one is a violacea, according to what you are showing.

There is a decent chance they are the right plants for that price and size but you just won't know until they are larger and/or blooming size.

Hausermann's sells Phal bellina seedlings for $17.99, and say it will be two years to blooming. These are not clones or special in any way.

They look like the right plants to me.

The first should be the bellina,

second and third pic are the violacea

The leaf on the Violacea is drying up and flimsy can i put it in an enclosure to keep moisture in while it matures, like a terrarium of sorts? Roots look great, bent but nice and green. I put it in a smaller pot for now.
