What to do with this Dendrobium hybrid? Male
Default What to do with this Dendrobium hybrid?

I recently put in an order and this hybrid of hybrids was so cheap I decided to give it a try, sight unseen. It's a little different than I was thinking. Originally I was going to mount it with another hybrid Dendrobium, but it growth is so upright I'm not sure it would do well. To be honest I'm not sure how I'd mount it. Pointing straight out? Sort of hanging down? Perhaps I should keep it in a small pot and maybe hang it? Or a pot on a windowsill? It is rather top heavy as it is.

Anyhow, I'm grateful for all ideas.

First photo is of the new plant, second photo is the cork with other plant I was thinking of mounting it with. The cork slap is large with lots of space above this. That plant suffered while I was away this summer but seems to be bouncing back now.

Photo of the new plant above is accidentally sideways. Here is a photo that may better show what I've got on my hands.

What is the name of the new plant? You wouldn't want to mount together plants with different winter water requirements.

Open the photo on your desktop and rotate it 90 degrees. Save and close. Open again and rotate properly. Save and closes. It will upload properly.

Both plants share a similar Latouria section parentage. The already mounted plant is (engae X johnsoniae) X (finisterrae X taipiniense). The new plant is (polysema X johnsoniae) X taipiniense.

The new plant has rather longer and larger psuedobulbs and isn't so clumped together. Nevertheless I believe the cultural conditions will be similar.

Yes, you could mount them together.
