Vanda discoloration - Orchid Board

Just looked at the back of my vanda and realized that these strange black/purple spots had become more numerous. Is this cause for concern?

Does that side get more sun?

I would check for spider mites.

Yes, this side is normally facing the window. I checked for spider mites but I cannot find any. Should I just spray with some isopropyl alcohol just in case?

Actually, I just swabbed a bit of alcohol on the leaves and saw some little black bugs running around.

I only noticed three at most, nothing serious

I would spray it with a stiff stream of water in the shower. Do that once a week to prevent spider mites. That damage pattern can also be sun damage.

One of my oncidiums has had spider mite damage and the while the color of the damage looks the same, it appears to be moist on the surface. This however, seems completely dry and seems more like a change in pigmentation as opposed to insect damage. I will spray it down and also try turning it around. Thank you for all of your help once again.
