Dendrobium kingianum and lindleyi spiking early? And sunken black leaf spots

I bought this kingianum division at my local society show two weeks ago, and this 4” lindleyi about a month ago from a local nursery. It seems like both might be growing spikes already each less than an inch long, but I’m confused since I thought they spiked after a winter rest?

The kingianum has three new growths at various stages of maturity (one is just barely leafing out), and the lindleyi has some maturing plump new growths.

Is this normal? Should I change anything about their care? Both are currently in medium bark + perlite + touch of moss, watered when mostly dry about twice a week, and at a southwest window getting bright sun with some shading during the hottest part of the day. Temps have been 65-70F at night to 72-85F during the day, humidity 30-50%.


In addition, the lindleyi came to me from the nursery with several leaves with multiple circular, sunken black spots with halos. I removed those leaves but in the month since, five more have become affected. I’ve sealed over both top and bottom with nail polish for the time being, but I will remove the leaves soon even though that means more than half the leaves are gone. Should I also treat with some pesticide?
