Default Noid Den ?

This may have been asked and answered, but i'll ask anyway. I have a noid dendrobium that is a cane type with flower bracts growing from the apex. Can someone tell me what the general type is called? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it is a dendrobium and not a reed stem epidendrum - like epi secundum which sounds like what you describe.

That's a beautiful Dendrobium phalaenopsis type. Warm and moist all year.

Thanks ES. They are out on the deck with filtered direct sun and sub tropical humidity, and loving it. One plant has 3 new spikes coming from back canes and two new canes I expect to flower a little later this year.

as said a den phal, likes warmer temps during the day but not under 20 degrees C at night either so overall slightly warmer than a phalaenopsis (they are grown in thailand). Can handle slightly more sun too. There are a lot of hybrids, I think in america they are slightly different than in europe but it europe that one would be :

I've had this plant and its divisions for more than seven years and it has bloomed every year without fail. The largest and oldest division now has three new spikes coming from older canes that bloomed last year. This is the first year that has happened. I'm waiting to see if this year's growth blooms too. Gonna be a good show this late summer/fall.

Society members here grow big hybrids of this group in 5 gallon / 19 liter nursery pots. They get huge and the number of flowers is amazing.
