Default Can Oncidiums spike a few months after you repot them?

Do your orchids spike just a month or two after you repot them? I have an Oncidium Aka Baby in bloom right now that I’m thinking of repotting in 1-2 months when it’s over but it’s a twice a year bloomer and I want it to spike in fall/winter. Should I wait until next year or give it a repot? The media isn’t desperately in need of it but it has a lot of algae on the roots and is in a pot that isn’t clear. Oncidium roots are just so delicate and blooming this winter is really important to me so I’m not sure about the trade off!
