I have been watching for months hoping my orchid might start a bloom but nothing. Any suggestions on how to encourage it? Contrary to how it may look, i honestly have some lovely orchids that are beautiful but i made some mistakes with these two. This one may have been divided. Thank you.
Orchids don't do anything fast. Most Phalaenopsis bloom just once a year... and which part of the year depends on the parentage (some are summer, some are winter). If the plant has had a rough time of it, it could take longer to get healthy enough to bloom. If you separated a Phalaenopsis with a basal growth (not really a keiki) it could take even longer because of possible damaged root system. So be patient. Give the plant the best care that you can... concentrate on strong roots and healthy leaves. Flowers will follow when the plant is ready.
