Summer in MI

Its finally summer in Michigan. As always, I am unsure about direct sun exposure on some of my orchids. General cultural advise seems to be "no direct sun". My high light orchids, catt.'s etc, I put in full sun.
What about Miltioniopsis? Should I put them in bright shade or full sun?

For now, my Milt. are only in bright shade by a south window for breezes. But once those breezes get too warm I move the plants to the kitchen island under a ceiling fan. Temps decrease a bit and that combined with freq. waterings works for me and them.

Something major to remember is that plants wintered indoors, even under bright lights, need to be moved gradually into brighter and brighter light. It's the same thing with cacti. Even cacti that will tolerate full summer sun all day in the Midwest will sunburn quickly after a winter indoors, if put into full sun.

Yup. I always acclimate for at least two weeks. I gradually increase sun exposure. I meant after the acclimation.

I think bright shade for the Miltoniopsis. Full sun is 'way too much for them, with those tender leaves.
