Regrowing roots

My orchid has lost its roots due to rot.
I am trying to revive it and help it regrow new ones in moss. Even though at first these tiny roots were
greener,now the colour has changed. The bigger root has a brown spot on it.
Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I dampen the moss too much or too often?
I usually moisten the moss in the morning and in the evening because it dries out very quickly.
