For a tropical environment, Cattleya violacea might work well for you. (Outside of the tropics, it can be a challenge because it wants lots of heat and humidity - conditions that you have in abundance) Also Cattleya dowiana and its hybrids like(s) warmth. A note... Cattleyas do need to dry out between waterings (so mounted, or in an inorganic medium such as volcanic rock, may be what you need) For Catts, overwatering is much worse than underwatering! Also many Catts do experience seasonal drying and cooling to some extent - you can look up information about species here:
Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia. Look for species that come from low elevation (500 meters or less) at tropical latitudes, these are going to be the ones that need warmth and humidity without a lot of seasonal change.
