Rotting new growth on grammatophyllum?

Hello.

I got this orchid a couple of weeks ago and repotted it. I think they got wet in transport to the orchid shop because many of the other orchids had rotting pseudobulbs. The one I picked looked fine but now the leaves in the new growth are yellowing and I'm worried it may affect the rest of the plant.

Should I remove the new growth to save the plant or is it not necessary?

These need to stay wet when in growth. Water it so it never dries out. Leave that growth alone. It might survive. It's dying because the plant got too dry.

A "beast" plant.
Hopefully you have somewhere outside you can grow that. It should do well in the DR.
Grammatophyllum's like it HOT with high humidity and very bright light just short of direct sun.
It should grow like a weed in the DR.

Oh, it may have been me then, I did let it dry out. They were kept bare rooted in the shop too so maybe that didn't help.

I do have a south-facing balcony with enough space so that may be its future home.

Quick update: I don't think it's going to make it. The good thing is there are three new growths coming from all sides, so I think it won't even fit in that pot.

That's definitely nice signs. Just make sure the growing conditions are all good, and all will be excellent.
