I am wondering if anyone can diagnose my new psychopsis?*
-I've had it for a few weeks.
-It was not in bloom.
-I did re-pot in quick draining bark mix
-I let it come close to drying out between waterings
-It gets filtered easter am sun for about 5 hours a day
-Low humidity bedroom with temps between 68-72
-Any guess why the leaf is looking bad as seen in the pic*attached?
Thanks

Psychopsis can be severely set back by even a gentle repotting. This is the likely cause. A lot of people recommend not removing any old medium when repotting these unless it falls out on its own. And I wouldn't repot one unless it were beginning new growth with new roots.

Consider giving a little less light for now, to decrease water transpiration. Your current temperatures are OK, but it won't grow much until it's warmer.

I still will look up and read everything I can find before buying a new kind of plant.

Hi,
Thanks....I did read up on it and understood best not to repot right away but I sort of have this phobia of wanting to put my new orchid in new fresh medium, like cleaning out an old closet! Guess I screwed it for now.
But, you'll be happy to hear I have resisted watering my emerging catasetums too early !!!!
Thanks...

Hopefully, it is just sacrificing the oldest growth in an effort to adjust to having its roots disturbed. When stressed, plants will often take measures to help them survive until they can recover. If you continue to give the orchid the best care possible, it should recover.

The Mendenhall 'Hildos' I currently have (bought fifteen months ago?) is alive and growing slowly (it adds new pseudobulbs two/three times a year with slightly larger leaves each time) after being moved into lava rock immediately upon receipt. It is a very young plant and going to take five to seven years to bloom but it is the leaves that I like with this one.

Good luck!
