Yeah could most likely be a root tip, a flower spike wouldn't grow out from that location I guess. I wish it was a keiki

Yeah that could be a root tip most likely. Wish it was a keiki

New roots are always good! When you see those green root tips, a sign of good health. I can get almost excited over seeing new root growth as seeing flowers... new roots greatly improve the odds of flowers to come.

Looks to me like root tips, and there's a bit of damage toward ends where it at one point didn't have either enough water, enough humidity, or it got bumped. Then recovered and continued growing.

True Roberta, a strong root system increases the chance of flowering. Its a good reminder for me to wait patiently.

You are right WaterWitchin, that the root tips did have some damage due to lack of water. The room where I keep these plants is very small and tends to remain warmer than the rest og the house. I'm keeping these healthier plants in this room to separate them from some of my other plants which might be sick. Top layer of medium dries super quickly. I put all my orchids on wondow sills for better light but I've run out of space and should probably look into growing lights option.

Warmth for Phals is a good thing. If they're close to a window, light for them is likely good enough. Might try misting the roots or adding a light layer of sphag on top and misting the sphag when it dries, until the new root tips get down into the medium.
