I feel your frustration, I have a couple M. tenuifolia that I can’t get to bloom either: mostly outside with lots of water and as much sun as they can take to no avail.

Default helpful my Maxillaria also refuses to flower

I grow my orchids in the garden here in South Africa (Limpopo ) with a tropical climate year around. Hot summers with high humidity and winters with nice daytime weather of 25 Celsius plus and cool nights My Maxillaria Tenuifolia also refuses to flower. Light shouldn't be the issue cause I grow it almost next to a large Cattleya maxima which flowers prolific. May be the watering I have always been a bit cautious but may be should increase watering.
Any advice tips welcome

I have read here that some members stand tenuifolia pots in dishes of water.

I'm one of those people. In the growing season my plant sits in a saucer of water and wait for it to be dry before refilling. It's usually standing 2-3 days in water then 1-3 days dry. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing to get it to bloom since I changed many thi g's at once and I don't dare change anything in my culture....

As a note mine is very potbound and forms a solid mass of roots. Water is sucked up at an alarming spread with all those roots.
