a short update of the situation with our mini mark....

spike on the right is hitting the leaf. let’s see what happens! happy it’s spiking again tho, and high hopes it doesn’t drop as many buds this time!

sorry the pics are so dark.

as alway in the interest of success and failure, update for the second year in a row our minimark has dropped all its buds. one of the 2 spikes it grew late winter also died outright, and the other branched 3 times but is now totally stalled and probly on its way out.

we heard these were finicky, and that seems totally true...

I've had 3 Mini Mark over the years, and found them to be finicky and fragile compared to most hybrid Phals. I wanted to try again now that I'm more experienced, but the young plant I got from Schwerter a year or so ago very quickly got diseased and died. (it arrived healthy so not the vendor's fault). But that very well matches my previous experience with this plant.

ha! glad we arent the only ones....reddit seems like the ticket as there are a steady stream of bloom pics on there from random people. and its started a new leaf already, so the plant overall seems healthy. i dunno....

it was one of our first plants so we were lucky to see it flowers, but now i'm becoming less and less of a fan and it may be rehomed sooner rather than later.

anybody want a minimark?! it has the passport tag so we could send it overseas....just sayin....
