Vanda Doctor Needed Dry Leaves
Hi
I am a new orchid keeper based in Singapore, so subject to a tropical climate. Vandas are being kept outdoors.
I was gifted a tall (over 1.5m) Margaret Tan Vanda, it was in flower. I've done my best to care for it but nothing I have done seems to make it healthier.
When I was having some new orchids delivered, the delivery guy basically said it was dead but that separating it into cuttings would perhaps help. He cut it up into 4 "plants"
These range from a tangle of old roots to what would appear to most people to be a new vanda.
Amazingly, they've all developed signs of new root growth, the continued problem is that the leaves are all shrivelled up and very very dry, even turning brown
They are in shaded sunlight most of the day with direct sun early morning, late afternoon.
My watering regime has changed from weekly, to twice daily. I have started to give growth fertiliser twice per week
Temperatures are stable low 30s Deg C daytime, mid 20s Deg C night time.
Any pointers to keeping these alive would be most welcome.
