Can I repot a Phal that has a keiki and blooms? Female
Default Can I repot a Phal that has a keiki and blooms?

I received this guy last year in Aug and it's starting to rebloom on one stem but on the other it has a keiki growing.

I thought I would ask because I'm not sure if I try and repot it, would it stress it out and lose the keiki?

I'd be inclined to wait until the buds open... buds seem to be fussier about changes in conditions than fully-open flowers. Once in bloom, Phals seem to be very forgiving about repotting.

I agree with Roberta about repotting being ok, but once the flowers are open. Phals generally don't miss a beat when repotting, even in bloom, however they can be more sensitive when in bud. I wouldn't worry about the keiki.
