Okay- for those of you who don't know the story of my cymbidiums- I've been trying to get these to bloom for 4 years. This is the FIRST TIME I've managed to get one of them to set buds. Sadly, I've watched bud after bud get yellow and fall off.
At this point one spike looks like its close to opening- slowly...ever so s..l..o..w..l..y, while the buds drop.
Is there anything I can do at this point? Or do i need to just wait?
Now, just patience. Looking at the middle photo, it looks a bit dry, with pretty coarse bark. I sometimes get bud blast when when we get hit with an episode of low humidity (northeast winds that heat as they flow downhill...a fairly frequent winter weather pattern where I live... right now RH is 17% ) Do make sure that your Cyms stay well-watered... but not on that gorgeous carpet!!!!
Roberta,
Excellant point. Its very dry in the house. I'll step up watering and/or misting them. Its the middle of winter and the heat's on- no humidity, etc.
Thanks for the tip
