I've been looking for information regarding this orchid's care. I kept it dryer through the winter and it now has new growths. My question relates to the amount of sunlight it should receive. I found this "light level of 2000-30000 lux" but I've no idead how to convert that into a usable figure. Is it high, low, medium, shaded light, etc.
Thanks!!!
Hello. I have batemanii and gratulabunda which I keep under T5 lights so it's obviously bright. Galeata had the same treatment but since it was my first Gongora it bit the dust. The other 2 look ok as long as they don't dry out and stay warm. New leaves are beginning. Part of the Stanhopea family which I also enjoy growing.

I'll elaborate my previous answer. 2000 lux is almost dark, which caught my attention (as well as the difference between both values).
20000-30000 lux is somewhere between Phalaenopsis high end and Cattleya low end. Bright but not excessively bright. Obviously each plant, when properly acclimatized, can take brigther light but it might cause a detrimental growing.
I grow it outside, so different environment, light is "shade to bright shade" ... imprecise, but I'd describe it as "Oncidium light" or "Pleurothallid light" ... a bit brighter than Phalaenopsis, but no direct sun.
