Renanthera monachica is not one of the big red ones. It's a small plant that won't do well in sun. Arundinas are becoming invasive weeds all over the tropics.

At the Tamiami show I spoke with a man selling meter long tip cuttings of large red Renanthera hybrids and terete Vandas. He said they required 6 hours of direct Florida sun to flower, and lots of water. Mine did fine against the glass of a hot, unshaded southeast sunroom window until it was eaten.
