Default Overgrown Crucifix Epidendrum Radicans

Hello again!

I believe I have let my Crucifix Epidendrum Radicans get overgrown. I had it outside this summer and it was very happy and bloomed beautifully. But now its almost taller than my window frame and falling over.
It doesn't seem to be making keikis.
Can I just cut it off half way and seal the cuts with cinnamon?
Will the trimmed sections also grow?
As you can see in the pic its put out tons of aerial roots.

Anyone with experience growing this?
Your help is greatly appreciated...

That how they grow for me.

I have one outside in full sun that is in 18” pot and spreads out about six feet. They are colony orchids so they will grow and fall and then spread that way

Machete. Early and often. It's the only known cure.

Whack back to about a foot tall. Yes, the cut pieces will grow.... but make sure you really want to do that. They really do grow like a weed.

It's a sin to throw away the tiniest piece of plant that might grow.

I have one. Every couple years I chop it back to the soil level and put it outside for the summer. I give it time release fertilizer and very bright light. The more light, the more compact it will stay. In the winter, I withold water pretty much. Mine thrives on benign neglect.

When my collection/addiction was smaller, I would put all my reed stem Epis outside (in NJ = May thru mid Oct), in full sun. It definitely helps keep the plants as compact as possible.
