As the UK is now out of the EU, do EU countries have to pay custom taxes on orchids and, do we require CITES certificate? Thanks

The best way to find that out is talk to the import folks of the particular country where you live. There you will receive a correct and definitive answer.

It is such a mess right now, no one really knows what's going on, not even vendors (for everything, not just orchids). I would recommend not ordering from the UK at the moment, especially as with the cold weather any delays in shipments could end up in frozen plants.

And unless whatever you are looking for is very specific and hard to find, chances are quite high that you can find the plant(s) at an EU vendor. There a lot of good ones, you can check out the vendor feedback forum for some names.

At present we are not sending out of the UK into the EU. Post Brexit there are now CITES permits and Phytosanitary Certificates that need to be obtained in order to trade with many orchids out of the UK and the high cost of these is extremely prohibitive especially to our customers. We are currently letting the dust settle after Brexit and later we will make further investigations into the paperwork required, costs and if there is any leeway to any particular countries. We are very sorry that we are at present unable to help our European customers but we do hope to again in the future.

Thanks for your replies. I used to get certain orchids which I couldn't find elsewhere. A friend would send them to me. I will have to get a list of all the Orchid vendors in Europe. I do know of a few in Germany and a couple in the Netherlands. Thanks again.
