Bud drop on Cymbidium Female
Default Bud drop on Cymbidium

I have tried to get my Cymbidium to bloom for 4 years. It finanlly had buds this fall/winter. All was well until the buds started dropping.
Is this something I did? I gave it a cold fall then I brought it inside, watered and fertalized it. Am I doing something wrong?
My other cymbidium is setting buds great. No bud drop and looks very healthy.

Totally hard to say, especially since the others are fine. I have found that sometimes they just do... If you lose the whole bloom (don't give up yet, sometimes at least a flower or two makes it) repotting might be in order... timing in the next month or two would be fine, you're getting new growth. How long since the last potting? I have found that sometimes it'll do that when the roots are not happy. But sometimes I just don't know. Here's wishing you the best for the rest of them!

I recently had a spike get almost to blooms opening, then just keeled over and blasted. I had recently moved it, then either grandkids or dogs pushed it almost against the window and I didn't notice. Probably the temp change at the wrong time. Blech... I hate it when that happens.

It's hard in a heated home. Spikes don't like warm and dry.

Thanks for the info!! I will say that this orchid dosen't look as healthy as the other one so I'll repot, look at the roots, and go from there.
There's always next year !!!
