I am using an outdoor thermometer, analog old fashion. The funny (or strange) thing is that the one I have now is the 5th in order and ALL of them had the same malfunction. Different brands but when the temp reached 38-39 C they started to show too high temp. 3-4 degrees more than actual temp. Maybe I should get a digital, but I trust them even less.

Is this correct? The app I downloaded and all I could find was only downloaded 200 times so something doesn't seem right...
I was going to post a side by side comparrison after letting them set for an hour but I want to know if I have downloaded the right app now so here is a quick picture of what you can expect after 10 minutes. Note these will not be accurate measurements as the meters need to adjust first but it gives you a good idea, most are withn +-5% - now look at the thermopro (the white one on the right). More than 20% off on humidity and it takes over an hour to change by like 10%

I have a few models myself, 4 units are the same as yours; the one in the left. My discrepancy is about 5% un humidity in between one brand and the other, the Temp seams fine, but I have adjust my growing in winter to the base of those meters..meaning that is my point of reference. You have 3 out of 4 with similar data, that is a POR (point of reference)
Great chat though i think we all struggle with Temp/Hum/Light measurements.
Thanks for sharing!

I use a $20 temp gun from Home Depot. It's great for knowing leaf surface temperature.

Hello everyone,
I want to give an update that I had originally downloaded the wrong app! Anyway the right app has an optional login to save your data but otherwise is very straightforward to set up.
I have noticed as an only disadvantage is that is uses so much phone battery. Like 2x the power that my whole phone would use otherwise. I have had to hook up my phone to battery bank otherwise it would run out of power in just a few hours - I got a few more govees so alot of battery life getting used lol.
It is great to monitor the daily day night differences in a week or even month and gives so much more of an overview. I love the govee so far.

Yes, I noticed the battery drain, and had to stop using that feature. I have an older iPhone, and I'm lucky to get a day out of the battery anyway. They're so damned expensive, but I've done iPhone so long I just can't do the Android crossover. Old dogs and new tricks, sort of.
The new govee and my old model temps are within 3-5 degrees of the same, so far (old temp shows higher). The humidity is averaging about 20% difference so far. I'm very inclined to get a second govee and put them side by side for awhile to see if I get similar readings.
Have you left a couple of them in the same place for awhile, OTinkerer, and seen if you get similar readings?

yes witchin, they are my most reliable monitor by now. All 5 are spot on.
I am currently using them to incubate some chicken eggs as the final test to see how accurate they are. So far so good. Embrios were developing well last time I checked
