As you all probably know I have 1 stubborn catt and one stubborn Pot. that won't bloom.
I am thinking that since I have my grow lights on for 12 hours they may not being getting the natural daylength clue that its time to boom. One of my catts did bloom once when it wasn't under lights.
I am about to throw them out unless anyone want's them. As much as I want to grow catt's the reality is that I just can't. Wether its my growing style, climate, winter growing capabilities, whatever.
Perhaps I've reached that stage in orchid growing where reality's set in. I live in MI. No matter how I try to alter my environment, I just don't live in FL, or HI, or a warm southern climate.
That's okay- I am successfully growing all kinds of orchids and that's what matters.

Photoperiod probably isn't the issue, as there isn't much of a change in nature.

I run 12/12 in a tent, and have a couple of Catts (species and hybrid) that have been in spike for months (also appear to be dormant), while others have already bloomed or are still growing vegetatively/roots/larger spikes.

What are your room temps/humidity? If you already have lights, get a grow tent. It's God-Mode.

I live in PA. It's cold outside, my apartment air is dry as hell, yet my tent can maintain >90% if I so choose. (I prefer more fresh air circulation, and a slow decrease in daytime humidity after the a.m. spraying.) Also, no light pollution at night.

I just picked up a 4'x4' for a song, and it's gonna my hot house for Myrmecophilas (I really want to document successful indoor blooming), and Vandas. I already ran a trial day/night with my 315w cmh, with perfect day/night temps, and humidity.

That's great. I am in awe of your growing skills. I've successfully reboomed several high light orchids but these 2 problem children just refuse to bloom.
So who knows why. I am just going to give them away. They're healthy plants. Once the temps warm I'll be able to send them to a good home

Your 2 plants in the other thread look on the small side to me. I think they might not be big enough yet.
