My first Vanda blooming!
Hello, I had previously grown Vandas and all died sadly. But one of my Vandas which was purchased without flower or spike, and got a spike out of the blue skie and now it’s in full bloom! The tang simply said Vanda Gordon Dillon so maybe someone knows tha name for it? Also any advice on keeping it alive for longetivity?

Also what do you think of it root system? Is it good enought? The sellar I purchased cutes off all small thin roots so now just the thick roots and a lot pf branchings are left? But after the cut it still bloomed so maybe everything is okey?

First off, congratulations on blooming it. It's beautifully colored.
There is a Vanda Gordon Dillon but most of the pictures I see of it show speckled flowers rather than solidly colored. But as we all know, in hybrids there can be a wide range of results. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the Vanda alliance will chime in on this one.

Roots look quite good - and it likes your care. The flowers are beautiful. I looked it up in Orchidwiz, which shows many photos. Most have spots but there are a few that look like this one, Whether or not the ID is exactly correct, I love the dark color. Enjoy!

It is definitely a variable orchid in terms of colour, there is an old post Vanda Gordon Dillon which has a dark clone similar to yours so it is within the realms of possibility that yours is correctly labeled.

Looks like it's in the shower which is where I put mine with long roots to give a good drink. Summer they go outside under some shade. Can't water too much-the more the better. And your bloom is lovely.
