Question Ordering orchids by mail

Hello. I have a question about ordering orchids online. Where do they bring the orchid to? Will it be sent to the post office, brought to your door, or sent to the "large" compartment in the community mailbox? This may sound like a stupid question, but I would like to know!

Thanks

I think it depends on where you designate as your address.

It all depends, if you have a P.O. Box # then it will go to the Post Office. If you have a street or road address, they usually deliver to your door....that is USPS. UPS and Fed Ex will not deliver unless you have a street or road address. Theirs will be to your door.

Hmm... but what do they do if you aren't home, just leave it by the door?

(sorry, I have never ordered anything online before )

be very careful what time of year you order until you find a reputable orchid house. Sometimes, I refrain ordering in bad weather simply because of what can happen. Not all orchid houses are good about making sure they pack them properly, especially in cold weather. JMO

Ordering orchids online is more addictive than purchasing at a store I guess; you never have to leave your home, you just press "add to cart", and never hand over 'actual' money ... ooohhh this may become a bad habit

Cam, They just leave me a lil note in the mail box and hold them at the post office for pick up.
Not sure about the states but Paramount and clouds will not send in cold seasons. Why risk it.

Yeah, I am def going to wait for better weather, and want to order from a reputable grower, as I live in Canada, Gloria suggested Cloud's orchids and paramount orchids.
