Question Using Superthrive with Orchids (or with anything!)

Hello,

I keep noticing a product near the fertilizers at the store called "Superthrive." Is anyone here familiar with it? Do you use it on your orchids? If so, what results do you get? I wonder if it helps it grow in all ways (including blooms).

It supposedly has vitamins and hormones in it. Now, giving hormones to cattle for beef has negative effects. Would using hormones on orchids have negative effects, too?

Eventhough the product looks like a gimic, I'm curious about trying it since I'm not having the best luck with what I'm currently doing. Just wanted to know what everyone else knows/thinks.

Thanks!

you should do a search on here for previous posts regarding superthrive. everyone has an opionion on this topic. there are those who love it and those who hate it and not many in the middle. personally ive had good luck without it and there has been some evidence to suggest that it causes bud blast in spiking plants and that was enough to turn me off.

Yes, you are right, there's lots of posts regarding that product! Thanks.

What is a "bud blast"? I read a bit about it on other sites and sounds like it has something to do with a deformation.

bud blast is when the flower buds fall from the spike before they have a chance to open.
