Welcome to OrchidBoard forum !!
With hydrogen peroxide ----- my personal experience is ----- with the 3% concentration solution, it didn't kill my orchids, but I noticed a pattern ----- my orchids didn't do much at all for relatively long periods of time (eg. months) when I tried it for 'disinfecting' orchids that came through in the post. Not that the orchids showed any signs of disease etc ..... it was only for pre-treatment.
But there-after, I just use mancozeb spray-on (roots, stem, leaves and all) for pre-treatment ----- absolutely no problem with mancozeb.
While it is my own personal opinion ----- and genuine opinion ------ there's no stopping somebody from trying hydrogen peroxide ----- such as that 3% solution that people talk about. But they'll likely see the same consequences or effects.
And - in fact, I do reckon that hydrogen peroxide can/will kill root hairs of orchids.
With regards to aloe vera - I didn't know about that one. And never tried it before. But probably no need to try it, as there are procedures for getting and maintaining very nice healthy roots already. And if aloe vera was that good or effective ----- then people would be spreading the information about that around like wildfire already ------ that's my guess heheh.
I can provide some nice links with information that can be beneficial at some time to anyone getting started with orchid growing.
