Distance & Time of New Plant Quarantine

Hello Everyone!

I have a question about how long and how far to quarantine new orchids. I have right now my new orchids quarantined in another room that is kind of across the hall. Can it quarantine in the same room but just kind of far away? If yes, then how far afar should they be?

And how long should I quarantine for? I have suspicion of spidermites on a couple of new plants. It may be my own paranoia. I have sprayed with neem oil. So far it's been 8 days since it's arrival and no other signs of further infestation. How long should I still keep it in quarantine? Also, what tell tale signs should I look for to tell it has spider mites?
