setter ----- for the moment - if the roots died due to being water-logged, if I had to set up something for recovery ----- I would pop my plant into a pot of my own medium of choice ----- maybe I would use roughly 8 mm average diameter scoria. And I would probably choose a wide pot, and then water heavily the scoria in the region toward the rim of the pot. And then just lightly spray the media closer-in toward the plant with some water ----- to simply dampen the media a little toward the middle of the pot.
Then pop into the humidifier tub ---- ensuring temperature does not become too cold --- to avoid fungal growth etc ...... and I would also pop 1 or 2 small DC fans inside for some gentle air-movement. And I would put some sphagnum outside of the pot ...... inside the tub, but not touching the orchid. To help maintain some nice humidity.
