Default I broke my crown completely off from the roots

I bought a rehab orchid that had a small amount of rot that stopped rotting and I was hoping to possibly get a keiki. It has AMAZING roots and I was pretty confident that it would be ok. Well my clumsiness got the best of me and I accidentally broke ALL the leaves (2) off from the amazing root system. Does it have any chance?

How did you break them off?

If the rehab orchid was able to speak, it would probably say something like "who's side are you really on?"

Actually, that was just a joke above hehe.

Since the orchid still has a spike and still got some stem on it ------- just keep the orchid in a spot that is not super sunny. Maybe it can use the energy to produce some new growth - somewhere.

The other thing is - you mentioned it was a rehab orchid, and there was rot. So maybe the leaves were already weak at the base due to rot.

Keep looking after the orchid, and see how things go. All the best, and give an update if you see any good signs later.

First, Welcome!

I think that it broke because it was rotted, not because of anything you did. The base of the broken part, as well he crown area on the base of the plant looks like there's rot... so it is possible for it to generate a basal growth from those roots, keep on nurturing it, but don't get your hopes up. (Yes, I have had this happen, not unusual) You tried!
