No, my plants were not blooming. I just wanted to say that oftentimes roots visible in the outer edge of pot are not representative to what is in the middle of the pot. You could at least lift out the plant gently, and have a look at it, if you feel a need.

My saragold hyprid is doing GREAT after repotting - my dad bought it as a gift from walmart of all places, and it was way wet, so I decided to just get it in the right pot - both spikes are still in bloom and she seems fine.

I did cut the spike on an aphrodite after repotting but she had 80 percent root rot, and there just wasn't much do do about it.

Default Repotting

I don't declare myself an expert, but when I get my orchids from grocery and home improvement stores, I repoot them. I have no problem with the blooms, so far they continuosly bloom for me and have new root growth. I did use 1/2 strength superthrive solutions to soak the roots after depotting them from their old mix.
