When it gets ready to bloom, you'll know it! These aren't subtle. In fact, once you get sheaths, it'll tease you and test your patience because it will seem like FOREVER for them to develop.

The first page (page 1) screen went 'pear shaped' because the youtube video link has https ...... instead of http ....

such as this below, which keeps the page together hehehe .....

Thank you Roberta.

They tease? What? Hahaha, I’ll prepare for that. Yes, for sure, these orchids are definitely teaching me patience...the anticipation is so worth it 😀. I just know it.

I read too about oncidium twinkle flower spikes taking forever to develop and bloom ( I got 2 of ‘em). Aha, by the time all my orchids bloom, can I expect to have developed the patience of a saint then, I wonder?

I read here somewhere about “patience, grasshopper” and something like they’ll do what they want to do in their time, something like that ( could they be considered spoiled brats then? hahaha)

Luckily, my Oncidium Sharry Baby Red Fantasy has 1 spike yay! and my Dendrobium Phaleanopsis are reblooming ( dendrobium I drove 6 hrs to pick up, store doesn’t ship) excited about them. Researching so oncidium buds don’t blast.

Too bad about the pandemic-I was soooo looking forward to the orchid shows and club membership this year, that would have been my first. Hopefully next year. 💕

Thanks everyone for all your input, as always very much appreciated! Take care.

which oncidium Twinkles have you got?
I would say the Twinkles are actually relatively fast in comparison.
If you watched the video you will notice that Cattleya's can decide to just wait 9 months before deciding to grow a flower.
That takes patience.
Oncidiums just power through. They are certainly not amongst the slowest even if it might seem like it

Regarding Oncidium Twinkle ....... my Onc. Twinkle 'Fragrance Fantasy' definitely took months for its buds to develop through to the opening stage. I didn't mind the wait though hahaha. My patience is pretty high (in level).

Hello Orchidtinkerer: I’ve got the Oncidium Heaven Scent “Sweet Baby” and Oncidium Twinkle “Fragrance Fantasy”. Thanks for the link to the video-I watched it last night (thanks to SP who fixed and resent the link) and discovered that it’s one that I haven’t seen, and here I thought It’s something that I’ve seen, my apologies.

Yeah, I watched about the 9 months part too. That’s ok, experts on our OB shared that they’ll do what they want and need to do-so I’ll continue to give them the care they need and patiently wait. Thanks again.

Hello South Park: yes, that’s exactly what I watched and read about the Oncidium Twinkle too. Hahaha-When mine spikes, it’ll be a glorious day until then, I’ll patiently wait for them to reward me with blooms.

Mine are still in 2.5” and 3” pots and the roots are growing like crazy since January 27, the new growths are still developing into pseudobulbs.

Thanks again everyone. I’m definitely learning lots from all of you.
